Edwina Apolo-Ramos, Owner - ALOHA VIBES ONLY!
Local girl from Waimanalo, O'ahu. I moved out to the mainland 20 years ago. Mom, dad, and siblings are all back home which gives me a reason to visit often.
I started hand pouring sustainable candles for stress therapy in 2021. I was later encouraged to sell them. I told myself if I do sell them, my culture and being the light to the world needed to be implemented as my mission. My candles were named with a Hawaiian name and they all had a meaning of encouragement attached to them.
My niece Kehau who is an alumni for Kalaheo High School was taking Graphic Designing classes. She became my marketing girl for my business.
Later I realized why not start producing product with my niece's designs. I started small with the splash proof and life style products. I then started coming across of other local talented designers and those who love our culture. I started expanding my collaboration with other local talent to showcase their work beyond our islands.
I have expanded my products into apparel and seeing each design coming to life with local talent is just amazing! My products are all showcased and events, festivals, competitions, and Ho'ike's throughout California. Another amazing part of my new journey is connecting with locals away from home and sharing our ALOHA to those who admire our beautiful culture through dance, music, food, and the stories of our home.
